FEATURE: Welcome to "The Creative Life" Blog!

My name is Sharine Borslien. I decided to start a blog dedicated to sharing adventures along a road trip that my husband Ron Hagadone and I will be taking in July and August 2021. Even better, I've decided to expand the scope of the blog to encompass the many ways Ron and I are creative in life, keeping us on the exciting path of freedom, truth, and love. We're musically centered with our hearts and hands in lots of other magic-making pies — and yes, food is one of them — but the road trip seemed like the best time to begin the blog because traveling brings into life all kinds of fascinating people, places, things, and activities that just don't happen in one's same-old stomping grounds!

A little background about us gearing up for RV travel:

After a torturous air travel trip from our municipal airport to LAX to DTW and back in 2017 (not to mention the unplanned hundreds of dollars we spent in airports consuming food, beverages, and readable/viewable content while our flights were continually delayed), Ron and I made the decision to refrain from air travel (well, until we can charter private planes) due to the egregious amount of wasted time in airports (TSA, ugh), on shuttle buses, in rental car offices, and so on. When he retired from his state job, we bought a modest truck and teeny travel trailer with the intention of visiting family and friends across the country while seeing the natural wonders of our nation. That time is drawing near!

Our Rig, First Day Trip to Santa Margarita Lake

This morning, I finished booking the campsites of our nearly 40-night journey. We are busily preparing our rig for safety, security, and comfort as we count down to departure date. For another first-ever adventure, we will be bringing our 13-year-old indoor-only Persian cat Nilla on the trip, so many of the "comforts" are to keep her happy and healthy inside the truck and trailer. Well, who wouldn't do everything in their power to make this little fluff-muffin feel like a pampered princess?!
