A Special Day to Begin

Today is Ron's and my "golden anniversary": We have been married 19 years, and today, the 19th of July, is our wedding day.
Since it's about beginnings and cycles, I'm going to post our Day 1 stay. We were at the Barstow/Calico KOA campground in California. Last year, we stayed at this campground on our last stop before heading home!
Let me just say this: It was hot. Triple digits, not much shade (no fault of the KOA owners), and air conditioning is kind of a joke with the punchline happening every time you step out of your RV into reality that is summer in Yermo.
In the midst of setting up camp, I was able to capture this amazing cloud formation.

So obviously, I'm not complaining!
We met the coolest couple as they were walking their bulldogs. Six, to be exact. Woof times six! Since we love that breed, we struck up a conversation. Nicest folks. Their bullies are "show dogs." YES, like in the movie Best in Show, but these are actual people, not actors. (Sure, the dogs are trained, haha.)
One of their dogs was named Thor. I was like, "I wear a Thor's Hammer amulet!" Can you believe it?!n They were stunned at the synchronicity.
Handsome Thor was THE speed running world champion until he got injured and retired from show-dog service, and I met him. He sniffed my shins and then let me pet him for a long time. What a legend, Thor, bulldog god of thunder and lightning, and so much more.
Despite our love for the bulldogs, we had to leave the campground — without bulldog photos, I didn't want to be rude — and be on our very merry way to Utah. Uuuuu-la-la. I love, love, love me some Utah.
Ron wandered the outskirts of the campground while I loved on some bulldogs and then waved them all good-bye. He took this picture. What's up with the inverted picnic table?

Until my next post, be well, live fully, and recognize the beauty in all that has been inverted against our inner-standing of what is right.
Sharine.💖
