A Little Bit About Moi!
Hi! I'm Sharine Borslien. My life is a unique story of both personal psychological inquiry and questioning the world around me.
I left my family and friends in the Midwest to move to California, because that's what my heart called me to do from a very early age. I made my way, knowing no one but the friend who moved with me — and who had a different mission altogether — through wild Los Angeles and the goofy glamours of Tinsel Town, only to find myself back in a small rural town, like where I grew up. Life is funny that way.
Side Note: So, Mom (RIP), I DID marry the boy next door, he just happened to live in Santa Monica and I lived in Brentwood.
I am passionate about writing, performing, recording, and teaching music; writing poetry and other forms/non-forms of word-smithing; taking and editing photographs; and sharing my experiences with interested folks.
I like to travel, to entertain, and to cook for my family and for others (I'm particularly interested in making tantalizing, nutritious plant-based food). Researching human history and "why are we here/where are we going?" is also kind of a hook for me.
I enjoy sipping wine and Champagne. I jog, hike, and walk outdoors for exercise because breathing fresh air while viewing Nature makes me happy. (Also, stepping into and out of the travel trailer makes me very strong. I recommend it for 38 days or more.)
I am blessed to be married to an amazing man who puts up with my bizarre OCD (largely involving placement of items in our home, travel trailer, and beyond). He consistently urges me to improve my musicianship, my memory, and my verbal utterances (I call him "Semantics Man" if that's any clue!).
We have been pet-parents of Persian cats since before we were married, and after nearly 30 years together, we're still wondering about adopting a French Bulldog, if our Miss Precious Perfect Persian Princess would even allow such a home invasion.
I am happiest when I'm freely creating in my favorite playgrounds as mentioned above, and so naturally I call this blog "The Creative Life." This is how I really do make beautiful sense of the wild world around me!
