As you know by now, Ron and I love being near natural bodies of water, and even more so ON the water. We rented a pontoon on Cass Lake along with Ron's sister Kelly and her husband Todd, and spent about three hours cruising the lake. Our boat had a nifty four-seat bar!

The weather was mild and mostly overcast, with a bit of typical strong lake wind on the return direction. We experienced a good blend of Nature and the things of Man, as we were on this beautiful body of water, surrounded by native trees and hundreds of lakeside homes of many different sizes and designs. Here is a lightly enhanced photo of a cool cloud formation:

And here is arguably the largest, most palatial home on the waterfront. I could totally live in this as a summer home, but only with a large staff to clean and take care of the landscape!

After our cruise, we walked back to our vehicles and I took note of the cattails waving in the breeze. Cattails are a signature marsh feature in the Midwest. I remember my dad collecting them from the ditch near our house in Wisconsin every year to give to Mom for indoor seasonal decoration. Instead of a photo, I captured the beauty of the cattails' movement:
And this large pink flower that called to me to capture it's delicate beauty!

We drove back to our campsite, changed our clothes, and prepped food to bring to the family gathering at Kelly & Todd's home. Ron packed our music equipment, too.
We set up on the back patio and played songs until dinner time, then played even longer after dinner. Everyone was very appreciative, and we enjoyed bringing our unique offering to the family!
Today, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and coffee with Nilla meandering around the camper. Ron and I will visit a nearby farmers market (we need more food!), then we have plans to meet our friends Larry and Karen (from the famous Elvis and Pat Benatar Show on Facebook) for dinner. The weather is a bit gloomy, but we'll bring our inner shine to the day!
Tomorrow, we will spend more time with family. On Monday morning, we will check out of the campground and start heading south to visit with friends in Tennessee.
Have a beautiful day, and see you in the next post!💖
